GOP Walks Out

Oregon Senate Republicans Walk Out Again Over HB 2020!

The Oregon Senate Republicans heard the voices of a mass of Oregonians who came to the capitol to protest the horrendous bill: HB 2020. HB 2020 will destroy the trucking and timber industry. It will suck the life force out of Oregon's economy. This decision to walk out comes with potential consequences. Governor Kate Brown has suggested that she will use police force against Senate Republicans in order to force a vote on HB 2020 and she threatened to revive SB 978 (Ridiculous Gun Laws) and HB 3063 (The Forced Vaccination Bill) if the GOP decided to walk out.

New Disturbing Writings Surface from Beto O'Rourke

By: Cole Rainey

Beto wrote,"One day, as I was driving home from work, I noticed two children crossing

the street," O'Rourke wrote. "They were happy, happy to be free from their troubles ...This

happiness was mine by right. I had earned it in my dreams." Beto's sick fantasy continues, "As I

neared the young ones, I put all my weight on my right foot, keeping the accelerator pedal on the

floor until I heard the crashing of the two children on the hood, and then the sharp cry of pain

from one of the two," O'Rourke continued. "I was so fascinated for a moment, that when after I

had stopped my vehicle, I just sat in a daze, sweet visions filling my head."

President Donald Trump again confirmed Sunday that he was considering declaring a state of emergency to direct funding to build the wall. “We’re looking at a national emergency because we have a national emergency,” he told reporters after returning from a staff meeting at Camp David on Sunday. “Just read the papers. We have a crisis at the border … it is national security, it’s a national emergency.”

The president said he would make a decision about the declaration in upcoming days.“We’ll be letting you know fairly soon; we are looking at it very strongly,” he said.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi introduced legislation on Friday that would require the president and vice president and candidates for the presidency and vice presidency to release their tax returns.

The bill, however, would not require members of Congress or candidates for Congress to release their tax returns.

The provision is part of H.R. 1—the “For the People Act”—which Pelosi introduced Friday.

Nancy Pelosi Elected Speaker as Democrats Take Control of House

Ebullient Democrats assumed control of the House on Thursday and elected Representative Nancy Pelosi of California speaker, returning her to a historic distinction as the first woman to hold the post. They then moved to defy President Trump and passed bills that would open government agencies shuttered by an impasse over his insistence on funding for a border wall. Both measures are almost certain to die in the Senate.

On the first day of divided government in a reordered Washington, Ms. Pelosi, now second in line to the presidency, and Mr. Trump clashed from their respective ends of Pennsylvania Avenue almost from dawn until dusk.

Democrat introducing impeachment measure against Trump on first day of new Congress

A California congressman is introducing articles of impeachment against President Trump on Thursday -- the first day of the new Democratic majority in the House.

Rep. Brad Sherman is reintroducing the impeachment articles that he first filed in 2017 with Democratic co-sponsor Rep. Al Green of Texas, a spokesman said.

The move is one of several indications that despite the go-slow approach of Democratic leadership, some in the rank-and-file will be eager to launch impeachment proceedings now that they're in the majority. A Detroit Free Press op-ed co-authored by incoming Democratic Rep. Rashida Tlaib, of Michigan, said the House does not need to wait for the outcome of Special Counsel Robert Mueller's Russia probe "before moving forward now with an inquiry in the U.S. House of Representatives on whether the president has committed impeachable 'high crimes and misdemeanors' against the state: abuse of power and abuse of the public trust."

Christopher Steele: I was Hired to Help Hillary Clinton Challenge the 2016 Election Results

British ex-spy Christopher Steele, who wrote the Democrat-financed anti-Trump dossier, said in a court case that he was hired by a Democratic law firm in preparation for Hillary Clinton challenging the results of the 2016 presidential election.

He said the law firm Perkins Coie wanted to be in a position to contest the results based on evidence he unearthed on the Trump campaign conspiring with Moscow on election interference.

His scenario is contained in a sealed Aug. 2 declaration in a defamation law suit brought by three Russian bankers in London. The trio’s American attorneys filed his answers Tuesday in a libel lawsuit in Washington against the investigative firm Fusion GPS, which handled the former British intelligence officer.

In an answer to interrogatories, Mr. Steele wrote: “Fusion’s immediate client was law firm Perkins Coie. It engaged Fusion to obtain information necessary for Perkins Coie LLP to provide legal advice on the potential impact of Russian involvement on the legal validity of the outcome of the 2016 US Presidential election.

“Based on that advice, parties such as the Democratic National Committee and HFACC Inc. (also known as ‘Hillary for America’) could consider steps they would be legally entitled to take to challenge the validity of the outcome of that election.”

Michael Cohen Sentenced to Three Years

in Prison

A federal judge in New York sentenced Michael Cohen, President Donald Trump’s longtime lawyer, to three years in prison Wednesday for crimes including tax evasion, making hush-money payments, and lying to Congress about past business dealings in Russia.

U.S. District Judge William Pauley III said he will allow Cohen to voluntarily surrender to prison on March 6 and ordered the former Trump lawyer to pay a $50,000 fine for making false statements to lawmakers. Cohen must also pay a forfeiture of $500,000 and $1.4 million in restitution. Prior to sentencing Cohen, Pauley told the courtroom that the former Trump lawyer pled guilty to a “veritable smorgasbord of fraudulent conduct.” Further, Pauley said that Cohen “appears to have lost his moral compass” and that he “should have known better” than to dodge taxes, lie to Congress and violate campaign finance laws.

Trump says ‘the people would revolt’ if he were impeached

President Trump commented on impeachment Tuesday, claiming he’s unconcerned by the possibility and positing that “the people would revolt if that happened.”

The remark came during a White House interview with Reuters, his first since federal prosecutors in New York filed a sentencing memo for Michael Cohen, Trump’s former personal attorney.

"It’s hard to impeach somebody who hasn’t done anything wrong and who’s created the greatest economy in the history of our country,” said Trump.

Martin Luther King Jr.'s Daughter Writes Letter Supporting Trump-Endorsed Bill

Dr. Bernice King, the daughter of Martin Luther King Jr., wrote a letter this week in support of a criminal justice reform bill that has bipartisan support and has been endorsed by President Donald Trump.

In a letter obtained by The Daily Wire from the National Diversity Coalition For Trump, King wrote in a "plea to Congress" that the "First Step Act" is an opportunity to take a "monumental" step "towards assisting and empowering the least of these in America."

"The bill would reduce mandatory minimum sentences for some crimes and grant judges greater discretion in sentencing nonviolent drug offenders," a Bloomberg editorial said about the bill. "It would also fund recidivism-reduction programs for low-risk inmates and allow some 2,600 drug offenders to petition for reduced sentences. Perhaps most important, the bill would require more research on criminal justice — a predicate to reducing guesswork in setting future policy on sentencing."

Fox News, citing several lawmakers, reports that Comey’s lawyers “instructed” their client not to respond to questions regarding the FBI’s investigation into Hillary Clinton’s handling of classified information, Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) warrants, and the Steele dossier.

Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA), who stepped outside to talk to reporters during the hearing, expressed dissatisfaction with Comey’s apparent inability to responded to various questions. “One of the disappointments of this deposition so far has been the amount of times in which the FBI believes that Congress doesn’t have a right to know,” Issa said begrudgery.
